Founded by brewer Gabe Fletcher, Anchorage Brewing Company is one brewery worth making the pilgrimage all the way to Alaska for. Specializing in French oak cask/ barrel fermentation with brettanomyces and souring cultures. Gabe blurs the lines between new and old styles of beer and brewing procedures.

 

Gabe has over 20 years of experience producing barley wine and put Alaska on the map for alcohol aficionados. Ratebeer.com distinguished ABC as being one of the top 100 breweries in the world, as well as having one of the best beer in the world — the triple oaked Deal with the Devil — and numerous best beers by categories.

 

To say that ABC is popular is an understatement. Just show up at the brewery any time it's open and you’ll know; it’s tough to get in. People camp out front for special releases.

Last years A Deal With The Devil was a Triple Oaked Version, Barrel Aged for 27 months! 10 months in Cognac Barrels, then transfered to freshly emptied Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Barrels for 12 months. Finally transfered to freshly emptied Buffalo Trace Barrels for 5 months. WOW
