Session IPA alludes to the Jamaican heritage of the record label, brimming with positive vibrations, bursting with juicy hop aromas with flavours of citrus and tropical fruits.
In September 2017, legendary record label Island Records
launched an exciting new music-inspired IPA to the
Australian craft beer market. Brewed in Australia under license by Barossa Valley Brewing, its accompanied by Island Records Spotify playlists, the signature Session IPA
delivers the ultimate soundtrack for drinking pleasure via
the world’s first-ever ‘Shazamable’ can – it’s the addition
to the craft brewing scene that all beer and music lovers
have been waiting for.
The Island Records label has been responsible for the careers of some of the biggest stars in music including U2, Bob Marley, Cat Stevens, Tom Waits, Third World, the B52s, Melissa Etheridge, Amy Winehouse, PJ Harvey, DJ Shadow, Mumford & Sons, Florence + The Machine and Dizzee Rascal, to name a few.
The team created bespoke Spotify playlists to deliver the perfect soundtrack for one’s drinking pleasure. Using Visual Shazam technology, consumers are able to connect to the music in seconds by “shazaming” the beer can to access the playlists.
“As a lover of music and craft beer and understanding our heritage of pushing boundaries and innovation it seemed the most natural thing to create our own beer with accompanying Spotify playlists,” says Glenn Cooper, Senior Marketing Director of Island Records.
